According to cruise blogger, Mad About Cruises, cruise ship captains' salaries can vary quite a lot. New captains often start on a salary of around $50,000/£37,000 a year, says the cruise expert. That might not sound like a lot for guiding a ship carrying thousands of people but captains do have the potential to earn a lot more.
