The early window offered plenty of excitement, with two games going into overtime, including the Tennessee Titans vs. Cincinnati Bengals and the Arizona Cardinals vs. Dallas Cowboys. The Titans clung to life as safety Amani Hooker intercepted Joe Burrow three times and running back Tony Pollard continued to shine, but Burrow's six total touchdowns (including two to Tee Higgins) helped earn the OT win.
The Cardinals had an opportunity to win it in regulation, but a missed extra point attempt from kicker Chad Ryland sent it into OT. He made up for it with a 42-yard field goal to seal the win, 33-30 to upset the Cowboys.
The Detroit Lions handed the Minnesota Vikings their first loss of the season , but it came at a price, as All-Pro linebacker Jack Campbell was carted off and taken to the hospital with a neck injury .
The Baltimore Ravens also got some tough injury news, as quarterback Lamar Jackson suffered a thumb injury in his throwing hand on his first pass attempt of the game as he returned from an ankle injury. He was ruled out and, per head coach Jesse Minter, will be placed on injured reserve as he undergoes surgery.
Tyler Huntley is reportedly dealing with turf toe, putting the Ravens in a tough spot ahead of Thursday's matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Chargers remain winless after losing the battle of Los Angeles to the Rams. The Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs played an exciting game that could be another example that the Chiefs' dynasty isn't as strong as it once was.
Harrison Butker missed a 54-yard kick, and Patrick Mahomes had nearly two minutes but couldn't get the ball into the end zone, even though that type of situation was his bread and butter for years. Denver picked up the important win for division standings.
